LC United offers young players a developmental experience above the challenge of playing recreational soccer and strive to supplement recreational play, NOT to replace it. The focus of LCU is on development and not on competitive play or selecting a league champion. Players wishing to play on a more challenging level, this allows an outlet for them for performance based soccer.
Much like other associations in North Texas, we are striving to improve the development and overall experience of each child within our program. What has been discovered is that by doing so, the overall experience of every child is improved. Recreational soccer should remain fun while allowing those children that are developing faster a venue to enhance those abilities, but not take on the demands of a total performance based program at a younger age. Parents and players will always have the option to leave the association and join an academy elsewhere. However, there can be many pitfalls in those types of organizations, such as over exerting the young player physically and mentally, and taxing parents financially.
With the LC United program, your child will be given the expert training and opportunity to thrive while enjoying the fun and camaraderie of their recreational team. However, they are only adding one practice to their regular schedule. Team practice conflict? LCSA asks coaches to recognize the playing potential of the player and what they can bring to the team, and should excuse development players from practice conflicts. Some coaches encourage the entire team to join and then hold only one team practice.
These groups are developmental only. Players must come to an open practice and demonstrate the aptitude to succeed in the player development program. Where your level of play is currently is not a factor, the aptitude to excel is. We give you an honest evaluation at your first practice if this program is for your player.
Your player deserves the best and we plan on delivering it. Come to the practice or contact us for more info or visit.
